Did you know that the Squadron also has a Melges 15 in the boatshare program? It’s a great design that prioritizes stability, comfort, ease of use, and performance. It provides boatshare members an opportunity to race alongside the Squadron’s very active fleet.
A lot of folks have asked us about sailing it but said that they feel intimidated by what they perceive as complex rig – here’s a chance to dispel those fears!
On Saturday, June 15th at 10am Squadron member and SailZing editor-in-chief and owner, Rob Hudson has volunteered to do a hands-on workshop that will take the mystery out of getting the Melges 15 on the water. You’ll also get the chance to sail in one, weather permitting.
If you plan on attending, we recommend reading the squadron’s advanced boatshare guide. Go to the Melges 15 section and review the section “Shore Activities” starting on page 7. There are also lots of YouTube video links. Start with the “How to Rig the Melges 15”. On-the-water rigging starts at time 13:43 (the earlier parts of this video deal with assembling a brand new M15).
